Welcome!
I am Dr. Rhoades and I am delighted to be your professor this term. I teach many different college-level courses, mainly in the fields of sociology, religious studies, and ethics. I have taught at several different colleges and universities. I teach traditional, online, hybrid, and accelerated courses. Yet even with all that variety, I find that there is a lot of common material that I need to share with all students in all courses. That's why I put together this website.

When your course begins, you will receive a syllabus and a schedule of readings/assignments. That is the information that is specific to just your course and your college. This website is an additional resource to use alongside those specific items. This website contains information about my background, my policies and expectations for my courses, and links to online resources on some of the topics we'll cover.

Those things are general resources for all students in all my classes. Use those pages along with your syllabus as an overview to the course. Use the drop-down menu at the top of the website to access the various pages and sub-pages.
The other pages and sub-pages which are on this website (the ones not listed above) are resources on some of the topics we'll cover in specific courses (maybe yours, maybe not). Consult your schedule of readings/assignments to see which ones of those you need to access. Then use the drop-down menu at the top of the website to access whichever pages and sub-pages you are assigned.
