Bibliography & Citations

Setting Up the Bibliography
Citing Sources Properly
(Be Sure to Use the Correct Style as Assigned)
IMPORTANT NOTE: I strongly discourage the use of "citation generators," as I have not found them to be sufficiently reliable. More importantly, they are often deceptively advertised on a page for a different style, so you may be tricked into using an incorrect style! Beware!
Commonly Used Citation Styles
Chicago Manual of Style
American Sociological Association (ASA) Style
Note: Style guides are updated regularly. Don't worry if you find minor differences between information here (between one source and another and/or between this and an ASA self-test that may be in your course. I'm constantly working on updates to match the latest style guide but I don't always get things changed in all the various places at the same time. I won't grade off for minor issues like that, particularly where I know that those discrepancies exist.
